A highly reliable air conditioner configured in such a manner that a liquid refrigerant within the compressor can be eliminated independent of the position of the rotor. An air conditioner comprising a compressor, an indoor heat exchanger, and outdoor heat exchanger, wherein the air conditioner also comprises an inverter circuit which drives the motor for the compressor, an inverter electric-power detection means which detects the electric power of the inverter circuit, a PWM signal generation means which generates a PWM signal for controlling the inverter circuit, a voltage command value generation means which outputs a voltage command value to the PWM signal generation means, and a stagnation detection means which detects the stagnation of a liquid refrigerant within the compressor and outputs to the voltage command value generation means. When the stagnation of the liquid refrigerant within the compressor is detected, the voltage command value generation means outputs a voltage command value so that the electric power of the inverter circuit becomes a predetermined electric power value. |
