<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a failure such as the delay, interruption or stop of the reproduction of content data or the like occurs in a transmission terminal on the reception side when a repeater itself fails even when a video conference system performs distribution to two channels for basic data and for extension data and transmits and receives the basic data and the extension data. <P>SOLUTION: The basic data essential to the reproduction of the content data is received through a first repeater with high reliability, for which an average fault interval is prescribed time or longer, and the extension data for improving the quality of the reproduction of the content data is received through a second repeater with low reliability, for which the average fault interval is shorter than the prescribed time.
