PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indicator that prevents close contact of the indicator with a gas-permeable package to ensure accurate detection even in the case of performing hydrogen peroxide sterilization treatment or hydrogen peroxide plasma sterilization treatment when a material to be processed and the indicator are packed and sealed in the gas-permeable package.

SOLUTION: An indicator for detecting hydrogen peroxide sterilization or hydrogen peroxide plasma sterilization has a color-changing layer formed on a base material; the color of the layer changes in the presence of hydrogen peroxide or hydrogen peroxide plasma. The color-changing layer has a surface roughness Ra of 2.5 to 15.0 μm.
