PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biomass storage unit and a pretreatment unit capable of efficiently burning biomass.

SOLUTION: A biomass storage unit stores biomass to be supplied to a crushing unit for crushing biomass. The problem can be solved by including a tank body for storing biomass and a heating unit that includes a heat source for indirectly heating a region including the region where the biomass of the tank body is stored and heats the biomass stored in the tank body by the heat source over the range of a non-carbonizing temperature.
