A refrigeration cycle apparatus (100) comprising: a low pressure detection means (11) for detecting the pressure of intake refrigerant taken into a compressor (1); an intake refrigerant temperature detection means (21) for detecting the temperature of the intake refrigerant taken into the compressor (1); a frequency detection means (40) for detecting the operation frequency of the compressor (1); a means (22) for detecting the inflow temperature of fluid to be cooled, which detects the temperature of fluid to be cooled that flows into an evaporator (4); a means (23) for detecting the outflow temperature of fluid to be cooled, which detects the temperature of fluid to be cooled that flows out from the evaporator (4); and a flow rate calculation means (measurement unit (31), calculation unit (32) and memory unit (33)) for calculating the absolute flow rate of the fluid to be cooled which flows through the evaporator (4), by using the detection values of each of the detection means.
