<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to prepare the decorating raw materials for a stand-by picture of a portable telephone by himself or herself, and to easily use his or her desired stand-by picture as necessary from among several original decorating raw materials for a stand-by picture prepared by himself or herself. <P>SOLUTION: Original decorating raw materials exclusive for a stand-by picture to be used for the stand-by picture of a portable telephone are edited so as to be prepared according to the combination of one or two pictures selected from edition items selected by the operation of a touch pen 23 or the combination of edition messages in addition to those images in edition areas Ia and Ib. Then, the prepared data of the decorating raw materials for the stand-by picture are directly transferred to a portable telephone, or stored through the Internet in a database so as to be called as necessary.
