The present invention relates to a supporting device (1) for maintaining an article (2) having a longitudinal axis A, a proximal end (3a) and a distal end (3b), said supporting device (1) including a proximal holder (10) including a port (14) intended to receive the proximal end (3a) of said article (2), and a distal holder (20) including a receiving part (24) intended to receive the distal end (3b) of said article (2), said port (14) and said receiving part (24) being aligned on the same longitudinal axis B, wherein said supporting device (1) further comprises compression means (29) for putting said article (2) under longitudinal compression directed towards a center of said article, when said article is mounted on said supporting device (1) with its longitudinal axis A aligned on said longitudinal axis B. The invention also pertains to a kit comprising such supporting device and article, and to a method for putting an article made of transparent material under compression. |
