The invention provides an applicator for the selective treatment of adipose tissue. The applicator comprises a hollow dome (40) having an interior chamber (41) configured to be applied to skin and suck into the interior chamber the skin and subcutaneous tissue. The applicator further comprises one or more moderately focused ultrasound transducers (42a, 42b) located in the interior chamber and having their focal volumes located in the chamber, and a pair of RF electrodes (81, 82) located at the sides of the hollow dome to create an electric field in the tissue in the chamber. |
