A capsule endoscope device is provided, which is capable of obtaining a desired image corresponding to different object shapes or states. It includes a light emitting device 29 that illuminates a living tissue; an imaging device 20 that captures an image of the living tissue; a transmission unit 23 that transmits imaging information containing the image captured by the imaging device 20; a storage unit 11 that stores a threshold 12 with respect to information on a distance between the capsule endoscope device and the living tissue; a distance detection unit 22 that detects the information on the distance between the capsule endoscope device and the living tissue; and a controller 26 that compares the information on the distance detected by the distance detection unit 22 with the threshold 12, selects an image capturing condition based on a result of the comparing, and outputs the selected image capturing condition to a light emitting device driver 10 and/or an imaging device driver 25.
