1,196,755. Fluid pulse generators. HENRIKSEN & HENRIKSEN I/S. Oct. 26, 1967 [Oct.27, 1966], No.48684/67. Heading G3H. A fluid pulse generator comprises a cylinder 1 and a free piston 2 having a reduced portion 5 which permits a pulse of fluid to be communicated via inlet 3 and outlet 4 each time the piston moves from one end of the cylinder to the other under the control of fluid admitted to the cylinder ends alternatively by electromagnet valves 6, 7. The speed of the piston and hence the pulse duration, is controlled by the pressure of the fluid and the degree of throttling effected by the de-energized valve 6 or 7 which is opened to exhaust the air compressed in the associated end of the cylinder by the piston. In a modification Fig. 2 (not shown) the piston has three reduced portions each adapted to coact, simultaneously, with inlets and outlets in three parallel paths. The Specification also describes an arrangement Fig.3 (not shown) in which three separate parallel connected pulse generators are in circuit with a variable timing control circuit which enables pulses to be emitted a predetermined time after the initiating signal has been produced. |
