<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing technology capable of identifying a modified page and printing the page when printing a modified document or the like. <P>SOLUTION: A first document and a second document modified from the first document data are obtained by a scanner 109 or received via a network 150. An image comparing part 108 compares the first document with the second document in a page unit. Then, based on a result of comparison, a modified page included in the second document data is identified as a page containing a portion different from a corresponding page included in the first document data.
