<p>A container inverting apparatus includes a feed conveyor 3 conveying a row of a plurality of containers C containing a material to be packaged. A container at the head of the row of containers is positioned by a positioning stopper 21. Meanwhile, a separating stopper 13 temporarily pushes back the second and following containers to separate them from the first container. An inverting shaft 27 is rotated through 180 degrees to invert the first container, thereby discharging the material to be packaged. Next, the container is released and abutted against an overturning member 47 directly below the container to allow the container to fall down sideways onto a discharge chute 57.
