PURPOSE: A display device is provided to prevent light from being leaked from a side of a light guide layer which configures a unit, thereby maximizing efficiency of using light. CONSTITUTION: A backlight unit(23) emits light behind a display panel. The backlight unit comprises a substrate layer(231), a light source(24), a light reflecting layer(232), a light guide layer(234), and a cavity layer. The light source is installed on the substrate layer. The light reflecting layer is placed on the substrate layer. The light guide layer is placed on the light reflecting layer. The cavity layer is formed between the light reflecting layer and the light guide layer.
