A sensing system of a stocker and a driving method using the same are provided to prevent a part of the worker's body from bumping against a rack master robot in working in a stocker by installing plural sensing units at both inner sides of the stocker. A sensing system of a stocker(100) includes a rack(130) loaded with cassettes(110); a rack master robot(120) for moving the cassettes; and a plurality of sensing units(300) installed in a line along which the rack master robot moves, to detect the workers. The sensing unit has a sensor light emitting unit and a reflecting unit formed in one pair. The sensing unit is formed on at least one axis of the line.
