A master cylinder for a brake system is provided to allow oil to smoothly be introduced from an oil tank to a liquid chamber. A master cylinder for a brake system comprises a cylinder body(20) having a bore(21) formed therein, first and second pistons(24) installed at the inside of the bore of the cylinder body to move back and forth, respectively, and a plurality of sealing member. The bore is provided at an inner surface thereof with a gap(61) spaced apart from the piston to form an oil path(62) between an inner surface of the bore and an outer surface of the piston. The oil path has a cross section, which is larger than that of an oil inlet port. The bore includes support grooves(29) formed at the inner surface of the bore to support the sealing member. The support groove is formed with a support ring(63) to prevent the sealing member from being escaped.
