PURPOSE: A porous gallium oxide preparing method for preparing hydrocarbon is provided to prepare methane by increasing the adsorption amount of carbon dioxide and to improve the efficiency of photo reaction. CONSTITUTION: A porous gallium oxide preparing method for preparing hydrocarbon includes the following: a micelle formed solution is obtained by adding base and surfactant in a solvent and stirring the mixture; a gallium precursor containing solution is added into the micelle formed solution to be reacted; and reaction product is filtered and precipitated, and the precipitate is washed, dried, and thermally treated to eliminate micelle from the surface and the inside of the precipitate in order to form pores. The solvent is purified water, ethanol, or methanol. The base is one or more selected from ammonium hydroxide, sodium hydroxide, and potassium hydroxide. The surfactant is one or more surfactants selected from tetradecyltrimethylammonium bromide and hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide.
