A data transmission apparatus for wireless LAN communication and a method thereof are provided to perform wireless LAN communication more effectively by varying a DTIM(Delivery Traffic Indication Message) period according to the capacity of the CPU of a wireless terminal. A data transmission apparatus for wireless LAN communication in a wireless terminal comprises a CPU(210), a measuring part(220), a storage part(230), a frame creation part(250), a control part(240), and a communication part(260). The CPU executes the overall operation and control of the wireless terminal in receiving a DTIM from an AP(Access Point) according to a DTIM period in order to save power. The measuring part measures the consumed capacity of the CPU. The storage part stores information on the consumed capacity of the CPU, measured by the measuring part. The frame creation part creates a data frame for wireless LAN communication. When the frame creation part creates a data frame to be transmitted to the AP, the control part controls the frame creation part so that information on the consumed capacity of the CPU can be inserted in the data frame. The communication part transmits the created data frame through wireless LAN communication. |
