PURPOSE: A mode setting method of a mobile terminal is provided to convert a portable terminal mode into a manner mode according to neighboring noise state. CONSTITUTION: A control unit determines whether a current location is in a building in case a receiving state of a GPS(Global Positioning System) signal is good(S10, S12). The control unit determines the movement of a mobile terminal(S14). If so, the control unit maintains a bell sound mode(S16). If not, the control unit converts into a manner mode(S18).
