摘要 The present invention relates to a touch screen apparatus adopting an infrared scan system, and more particularly, to a touch screen apparatus in which infrared laser scanners are arranged on a transmitting side, a light guide bar and an infrared ray receiving phototransistor are arranged on a receiving side, and in which a decoder for detecting X/Y coordinates is arranged. The touch screen apparatus adopting an infrared scan system according to the present invention comprises: a screen which can be touched by a user, and on which or through the use of which the user may view images; two or more infrared laser scanners arranged at two or more edges of the screen to scan the entire area of the screen by means of an infrared laser according to a predetermined cycle; said light guide bar arranged at a rim of the screen; the infrared ray receiving phototransistor arranged at one end of the light guide bar; and the X/Y decoder for detecting X/Y coordinates, wherein said X/Y decoder calculates X/Y position information and size information on an object contacting the screen using the information on the quantity of light read by the infrared ray receiving phototransistor and the information on the angle of the laser beam read by the infrared laser scanners. The touch screen apparatus adopting an infrared scan system according to the present invention is significantly simpler in configuration as compared to conventional methods in which infrared LEDs and infrared ray receiving phototransistors are arranged into a matrix. The touch screen apparatus of the present invention flexibly deals with the demand for an increase in the size of the screen without an increase in costs, and achieves a multi-touch function for detecting multiple touch points at the same time.
