PURPOSE: A gas hydrate inhibitor is provided to change phase equilibrium temperature and pressure by small amount, and to reduce the reaction speed of generating gas hydrate at the same time, thereby impeding the generation time of gas hydrate. CONSTITUTION: A gas hydrate inhibitor comprises a compound in chemical formula 1. In chemical formula 1, R1 and R2 is independently linear or branched C1-7 alkyl, linear or branched C1-7 hydroxyalkyl, linear or branched C1-7 aminoalkyl, linear or branched C1-7 alkoxy or hydroxy, and Y^- is OH^-, Cl^-, Br^-, I^-, CH3COO^-, NO3^-, BF4^- or (CF3SO2)2N^-. An Inhibiting method of generation of gas hydrate uses the compound in chemical formula 1.
