A refrigerator and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to improve user convenience by displaying recipe for food obtainable using grocery contained in the refrigerator. A refrigerator(100) keeping food comprises a food recognition unit(110) recognizing the food stored in the refrigerator, an information storage unit(120), an information output unit(130), a user input unit(140), and a control unit(150). The information storage unit stores cooking information on the food and items of the cooking information. The information output unit outputs the cooking information and the items. The cooking information and the item are selected through the user input unit. The control unit controls the information output unit to output the item corresponding to a specific food recognized by the food recognition unit and output the cooking information on the item selected through the user input unit.
