<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication apparatus that has a DPD type distortion compensation function in a simple structure, and a distortion compensation method for the communication apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A circulator 14 has first to third terminals. The first terminal receives a transmission signal from a transmission signal processing section 201, the second terminal receives a received signal from a transmitting/receiving antenna 10 and outputs the transmission signal input from the first terminal to the transmitting/receiving antenna 10, and the third terminal outputs the received signal input from the second terminal and outputs a leakage signal from the transmission signal input from the first terminal as a feedback signal. A received signal and a feedback signal processing section 204 includes a low noise amplifier 26 for amplifying the received signal, and frequency-converts the received signal and the feedback signal from a radio frequency band to an intermediate frequency band.
