<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate troublesome users' operations for an automatic answering telephone function in water and concentrate users' energies to work in water. <P>SOLUTION: When an incoming call occurs, it is determined whether or not a portable telephone is in water and, when not in water, an incoming call sounds, a vibrator is driven, and an incoming call display unit displays an incoming call. On the other hand, it is determined that the portable telephone is in water, a water pressure applied to the portable telephone is detected and it is determined whether or not the water pressure is at least a threshold value "n".
