<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rack and pinion type steering device having no risk of increasing gear noise, even when wear of a guide sheet is large. <P>SOLUTION: The rack and pinion type steering device forms an inward peripheral groove 10 on the inner peripheral surface of a boss part 7, forms a plurality of outward peripheral grooves 11, 12 by sandwiching a like crest part 13 of ring form on the outer peripheral surface of a rack guide 3 facing the inner peripheral surface of the boss part, and mounts an elastomer 14 of ring form by being mounted on the outward peripheral groove 11 and the inward peripheral groove 10 of a near side to a rack bar 2. The rack guide 3 is elastically deformed so as to get over the crest part 13 with the elastomer 14 by accompanying wear of the guide sheet 6 and pushing the crest part 13 to the elastomer 14 by biasing of a biasing member 8 and provided to enter the outward peripheral groove 12 adjacent to a remote side to the rack bar 2 with the elastomer 14. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
