The device (1) has a flexibly deformed membrane (2), and low-pressure elements (3) i.e. low-pressure nozzles, embedded in the membrane. The low-pressure elements generate low-pressure within a suction area (4) for retaining, holding and/or positioning a three-dimensionally formed or deformed object. A high or low pressure source is separated from the low-pressure elements for providing high or low pressure to a housing (5) such that the membrane is geometrically deformed. An adjusting unit is arranged in the housing and connected with the membrane.
