PURPOSE: A backlight assembly and a display device with the same are provided to reduce the thickness of an optical member as much as the height of a point light source. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of point light sources(154) are separated on a first circuit board(152). An optical member(140) covers the point light sources. The optical member guides light emitted from the point light sources. The first circuit board has a plurality of recess parts(156) which protrude downward. The point light sources are embedded in the recess parts.
