<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for laying up (laminate) a barrel-shaped composite structure such as a fuselage section for an aircraft. <P>SOLUTION: A rotating body composite structure is manufactured by providing an OML mold 26 having an interior tool surface on which a composite layup may be formed and moving a manipulator 30 through the interior of the mold.
