<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drying machine or a washing and drying machine having reduced power consumption while preventing drying unevenness of clothing. <P>SOLUTION: The drying machine having a rotating drum for storing clothing, a motor for driving the rotating drum, an outer tank internally containing the rotating drum, and a lifter provided on an inner peripheral surface of the rotating drum, for scraping up the clothing in accordance with rotation of the rotating drum, the machine comprises a flow passage for drying air provided in an interior of the lifter.
