<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operating method of a fuel battery, which can recover deterioration due to a deterioration causing gas in order to reduce the cost and size of the fuel battery by eliminating the need for installation of a gas processing device. <P>SOLUTION: An operating method of a fuel battery provided with a plurality of cells C electrically connected in series, each of the cells C comprising an oxygen electrode 2 on one face of an electrolyte layer 1 and a fuel electrode 3 on the other face thereof, for generating electric power by supplying an oxygen-contained gas to the oxygen electrode 2 and supplying a hydrogen-contained gas to the fuel electrode 3, the method comprises performing deterioration recovery processing for stopping the supply of the oxygen-contained gas to the oxygen electrode 2 to allow hydrogen to exist at the oxygen electrode 2 to recover deterioration of the oxygen electrode 2, in which the hydrogen-contained gas is supplied to the fuel electrode 3 and also the supply of the oxygen-contained gas to the oxygen electrode 2 is stopped in a state that an electric current is stopped flowing through the cells C, and the hydrogen transmitting from the side of the fuel electrode 3 to the side of the oxygen electrode 2 is used. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
