<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical member for an organic EL element capable of suppressing reduction in contrast caused by external light, and improving light utilization efficiency and color purity. <P>SOLUTION: An organic EL element comprises: a circular polarizing plate composed of at least a polarizing plate and a phase difference layer; an organic EL light emitting layer; and a light reflection layer provided on an opposite side of a visible side of the organic EL light emitting layer; having a solidified liquid crystal layer formed as a continuous film formed of the same material. The solidified liquid crystal layer includes a region where at least a circular polarization component is reflected selectively and a region where light transmits independent of a polarization state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
