<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medicine and a food and drink which have no side effect, have high safety, can be taken easily, show a life-extending effect, particularly a healthy life-extending effect, and show an in vivo antioxidant function-improving effect. <P>SOLUTION: The agent can extend lives of organisms such as human, dog, cat, and nematode, can preferably extend a healthy life, and can improve the in vivo antioxidant function by the intake of astaxanthin as an active ingredient.
