<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet material feeding device which can prevent a user from raising a sheet material placing part on which a sheet material is placed while the sheet material is being fed. <P>SOLUTION: The sheet material feeding device 700 includes: the sheet material placing part 31 on which a document before being fed is placed and which has a first engagement part 311; and a sheet material lift member disposed on the undersurface side on the downstream of the document placed on the sheet material placing part 31 which ascends to raise the downstream side end of the document and descends to lower the downstream side end of the document. A driving part 38 activates a lift activation member 35 in forward driving, to raise the sheet material lift member, and activates an engagement part activation member 37 to engage the second engagement part 36 with the first engagement part 311. activates the lift activation member 35 in reverse driving, to lower the sheet material lift member, and activates the engagement part activation member 37 so as not to engage the second engagement part 36 with the first engagement part 311. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
