An embodiment of this image processing device is provided with a lung-field region extraction unit (33), a lung-field bottom region extraction unit (34), and a detection unit (35). On the basis of the pixel value of each pixel configuring a three-dimensional medical image that images the chest of a subject, the lung-field region extraction unit (33) extracts a lung-field region from the three-dimensional medical image. The lung-field bottom region extraction unit (34) extracts the lung-field bottom region from the lung-field region. The detection unit (35) detects the apex position, which is at the head side of the subject, of the lung-field bottom region. |
