The present invention relates to a process for making an extract of the fruits of the plant Schisandra chinensis, it relates to the extract obtainable by this process and it relates to the therapeutic and to the non-therapeutic use of this extract, or of a functional food or a dietary supplement comprising the extract, for reducing the weight of a human or of an animal.
