PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for selectively storing an image including a specific shape are provided to store an image selectively according to a detection result by detecting a V-shaped finger gesture from an inputted image through the small number of calculations. CONSTITUTION: An image storage apparatus(100) includes an image converting unit(110), a detection unit(120) and a storage unit(130). The image converting unit performs a Census Transform of an inputted image, and the detection unit uses the learning data for a predetermined pixel area to judge the existence of a V-shaped finger gesture. The detection unit stores only the corresponding input image if the V-shaped figure gesture exists.
