<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum alloy discrimination method for each alloy system, and to provide an aluminum alloy sorting apparatus using the method. <P>SOLUTION: The discrimination method comprises: plotting on a measurement plane the transmission X-ray intensity measurement results of a plurality of samples for calibration (a first aluminum alloy) to be collected and samples for comparison (a second aluminum alloy) to be removed for every unit area of X-rays with different energy; defining a discrimination belt sandwiching distribution of the measurement results of the samples for calibration with an upper side curve and a lower side curve; dividing the measurement plane into a medium density area, a higher density area, and a lower density area by the discrimination belt; deciding a first threshold value on the measurement results of the samples for calibration in the higher density area or the lower density area, compared with the distribution of the measurement results of the sample for comparison; deciding a second threshold value from the measurement results of the samples for calibration in the medium density area; and determining to be a collection object when a proportion including a transmission X-ray intensity measurement value for every unit area on a sorted sample in the higher density area or the lower density area is smaller than the first threshold value, and proportion including the measurement value in the medium density area is larger than the second threshold value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
