<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To immediately recognize the state of a device necessary for using an electronic apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: An external memory 26 whose state changes according to use state, and a battery 27 are detachably incorporated into an imaging device 1. A battery attachment detecting section 51 detects that power is applied to the imaging device 1. When the battery attachment detecting section 51 detects that power is applied, an external memory attachment detecting section 52, a battery residual amount measuring section 61, and an external memory idle capacity measuring section 62 detect the residual amount of the battery 27 and the state of the external memory 26.
