<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a route that reflects past driver's know-how, in consideration of driver's characteristic and vehicle information. <P>SOLUTION: A route search device includes: partial route generation means for, with respect to running paths obtained from a received running history of vehicle, obtaining partial routes after sectioning each of the running paths at a main branching point where a branching rate of vehicle is equal to or more than a predetermined value or which is an intersection of main road; and a route calculation part for searching for routes from a specified departure place to a destination. The device comprises partial cost generation means for: acquiring driver information that retains records of information on a driver, with respect to classification items relating to factors for route selection; obtaining a running rate of each of partial routes whose beginning is the same as the ending, with respect to the classification items of driver information corresponding to each partial route; and using the running rate to calculate a partial cost for each partial route that is used for route search.
