PURPOSE: A system for supporting a registration release mode and a content hold mode in a wireless communication system is provided to store context of a mobile station in an authentication station when the mobile station is transited to a DCR mode. CONSTITUTION: A MS(Mobile Station)(200) requests a BS(Base Station)(202) to be transited to a DCR(De-registration with Content Retention) mode. The BS transmits DCR mode transition request information of the mobile station to a paging BSC(Base Station Controller)(206). The paging BSC transmits the DCR mode transition request information and context information of the MS to an authentication station(208). The authentication station stores the context information of the MS.
