PURPOSE: A process for recovering terephthalic acids from waste terephthalic acids is provided to recover desirable terephthalic acids from waste terephthalic acids at excellent reaction rate, to reuse resources, and to solve environment contamination problems. CONSTITUTION: A process for recovering terephthalic acids from waste terephthalic acids comprises the steps of: (i) dissolving terephthalic acids present in waste terephthalic acids with alkali solution to prepare a solution of the salts of terephthalic acids; (ii) filtering the solution the salts of terephthalic acids to remove impurities; (iii) oxidizing the solution the salts of terephthalic acids from which the impurities are removed, with an acid solution to prepare terephthalic acids; and (iv) washing the terephthalic acids with water and separating solid and liquid.
