<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner which can enhance a sound insulation effect by effectively providing a sound insulation material in a narrow space. <P>SOLUTION: The air conditioner includes a compressor 6 that compresses a refrigerant, a heat storage tank 32 which stores a heat storage material to store heat generated by the compressor 6 and is arranged to partly cover the peripheral face of the compressor 6, and a sound insulation material that covers the peripheral face of the heat storage tank and the compressor. A protrusion 63 is provided on the upper part of the heat storage tank 32 and a holding part 64a on the sound insulation material 64.
