The present invention relates to a mobile terminal, a display device, and a method for controlling same, which promote the convenience of a user when the mobile terminal and the display device are interconnected by enabling data communication therebetween. When the mobile terminal equipped with a first display unit for executing a pre-determined software is interconnected with the display device equipped with a second display unit, a screen image executing a first version of the software is displayed on the first display unit and a screen image executing a second version of the software is displayed on the second display unit. Therefore, a user is able to experience different versions of the software at the same time.
