<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that it takes time to complete image tone conversion processing, by achieving faster processing and full-scale image tone conversion. <P>SOLUTION: In a state in which an image processing apparatus is connected to a printing site, a desired image tone to be obtained by conversion, such as an oil painting tone, a water-color painting tone, or a pastel painting tone, etc., is selected. Various parameters are programmed for each image tone in advance, so parameters thereof are read in and set. An object image and a type of image tone are uploaded to the printing site (step S216). After subsequent conversion into bitmap data for adjustment of R (red), G (green), and B (blue) for each pixel of a thumbnail in a step S217, the thumbnail is subjected to the image tone conversion processing (step S218).
