PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic device which saves power consumption by stopping time display, while allowing a user to refer to the time when the user wants to refer to the time by not stopping the time display against the intention of the user, and to provide a control method of the electronic device.

SOLUTION: The electronic device includes a first power source unit 101 for generating power by converting a first energy into electric energy being a second energy; a second power source unit 103 for accumulating the electric energy obtained by the power generation; a charge detection unit 102 for detecting whether the second power source unit is in a state for charging the electric energy or in a state not charging; a timer unit 11 for clocking the time and stopping the display of the clocked time when an operation input is detected; and a low power consumption controller 105 that measures time in a non-charging state even when the operation input is detected, and stops operation of the timer unit when the clocked time exceeds preliminarily set time.
