<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positioning signal receiver and a satellite positioning system which are capable of determining a position at high speed in a position determination using a positioning signal transmitted from the satellite positioning system. <P>SOLUTION: A satellite positioning system comprises a global positioning system, a positioning signal receiver, a low-frequency assist information providing system providing satellite orbit information, as assist information, supplied at low frequency, a clock information generating device generating clock information, and a QZS transmitting the clock information to the positioning signal receiver. The clock information generating device superposes the clock information on an L1-SAIF signal of the QZS and transmits the signal to the positioning signal receiver via the QZS.
