<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the sequence of printing processing so that power costs for printing are reduced, a risk that printing output is not completed in a time zone of a low power rate is reduced, and printing costs are minimized even if the output is not completed in the time when the electric power charge is low. <P>SOLUTION: When printing jobs are input from external devices such as a FAX 1 and a PC 3, the printing jobs are stored in an image storage device 8. The CPU 5 calculates the stored jobs and a processing period to print the already stored jobs with a low-cost printing mode and compares the printing period of the jobs with a period until the end of a nighttime charge to determine whether there is a sufficient period until the end of the nighttime charge. If there is not a sufficient period until the end of the nighttime charge, the stored jobs are output with the low-cost print mode.
