PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for efficiently paging user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system.

SOLUTION: The apparatus comprises: at least one processor configured to map user equipment (UE) to a paging occasion based on a predetermined number of least significant bits (LSBs) of a UE identifier (ID) that identifies the UE so that a plurality of UE with the same partial UE IDs are mapped to different paging occasions, and to send a paging indicator and a partial UE ID for a recipient UE in a paging occasion for the recipient UE; and a memory coupled to the at least one processor.
