<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device with high transmittance and a manufacturing method therefor. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device comprises a first substrate, a second substrate, a liquid crystal layer enclosed between the first substrate and the second substrate, and a plurality of pixels each including a first electrode and a second electrode, one of which being a pixel electrode. Each pixel is provided in one of regions surrounded by signal lines. Between the adjacent pixels, a part of the signal lines is formed. In a plan view, two polymer structures are formed extending along the part of the signal lines so as to sandwich the part of the signal lines, and are formed from one of the first substrate and the second substrate toward the other substrate. Each of the polymer structures is provided so as to overlap with any of the regions. The liquid crystal layer is provided between the adjacent polymer structures. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
