<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for improving the opening ratio of an IPS system liquid crystal display device. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device comprises drain lines, gate lines, common electrodes, linear pixel electrodes, and thin film transistors. The drain line is formed for every two adjacent pixels in the same pixel row. The gate lines include a first gate line connected to one pixel of the pixels connected to the same drain line in the same pixel row, and a second gate line connected to another pixel. The pixel electrodes include a first linear electrode tilted in a plus direction from a first direction in a region where the pixel electrode overlaps with the common electrode, and a second linear electrode tilted in a minus direction from the first direction. The first and second gate lines and the thin film transistor are formed in a region between the first linear electrode and the second linear electrode for every pixel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
