<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fender capable of prolonging a service life without reducing the workload of absorbing berthing energy of a ship. <P>SOLUTION: A fender 1 includes an elastic part 2 attached to a pier surface X and a shock receiving part 3 supported at a distal end of the elastic part 2, has an internal space 10 defined by the elastic part 2, and absorbs berthing energy of a ship by the elastic part 2 being compressively deformed while being buckled. In the fender 1, at least a part 7 facing the internal space 10 of the end part of the elastic part 2 is formed of a second elastic material which has a breaking elongation larger than that of a first elastic material forming a center part of the elastic part 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
